Police drones near airports get faster FAA clearance in Versaterm Aloft and DroneSense integration
Versaterm integrated Aloft's FAA airspace authorization into DroneSense, letting police drone teams secure LAANC approvals near airports without switching apps or manual FAA coordination.

When police need to launch a drone during an emergency, every minute counts. But when that mission involves controlled airspace near an airport, getting the necessary FAA authorization adds another step before the drone can take off. Versaterm wants to make that process simpler.
The public safety technology company has integrated Versaterm Aloft's FAA airspace authorization capabilities directly into its DroneSense drone management platform. Police drone teams can now obtain Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability, known as LAANC, approvals without switching applications or coordinating manually with the FAA.
The integration removes a familiar point of friction for public safety drone programs. Teams operating under time pressure no longer need to leave their fleet management software to request airspace access, which shortens the path from call-out to launch in controlled airspace.
Faster authorization matters most for agencies whose jurisdictions include airports or the controlled airspace around them. For those teams, the difference between an in-app approval and a manual coordination step can decide whether a drone is available when it is needed.
